Despite certain reports circulating online, nothing has changed regarding fines for the unvaccinated. The procedure is and remains suspended for everyone until 30 June 2023. The deadline for payment will run from 1 July and expire on 29 August. There is no appeal deadline to comply with, and it therefore makes no sense to speak of an expiry date because this is not an administrative penalty governed by Law 689/1981. It is not advisable to take action now. Indeed, no expiry deadline is mentioned in the debit notices. We shall see whether the government keeps its promise to cancel the fines. If it does not, from 1 July onwards we will be ready with instructions for appealing against the debit notices.
